The Pascua Yaqui began issuing the cards on a voluntary basis Monday. The tribe's lands are about 60 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border, and many of its 17,000 members have relatives living on both sides of the border. Geron claims this is the first such trial in humans. The FDA had placed a clinical hold on the drug due to safety concerns: A preclinical animal study showed a higher frequency of small cysts within the spinal cord injury sites injected with Geron's treatment.  

Americans are less optimistic that their homes will increase in value during the next 12 months, according to the Chicago Booth/Kellogg School Financial Trust Index, produced quarterly by researchers at the University of Chicago and Northwestern University. The latest survey finds that 26 percent of those surveyed think house prices in their area will increase, compared to 31 percent in March. The percentage of people who think home values will decrease remained constant at 20 percent.
